Hello everyone.
My name is Ron Bultongez and I'm going to be sharing my story with you. I am a 20 year old young man. I was born in Kinshasa, which is located in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa. My native tongue is french. I prefer Coca-cola over Pepsi, pancakes over waffles, and hugs over drugs. Since I was about 11 years old, shortly after immigrating to the United States as a refugee, my short life took a turn I would've never forshadowed. I transitioned back and forth from my abusive home, friends' homes, homeless shelters, and foster homes. I learned very early that life is hard and often-times unfair. Because of my up-bringing, I experienced countless numbers of obstacles which molded me into an independent minor with adult-like responsibilities at an age which no child should. My faith, friends, and the excellent city of Plano are the reasons why I am still alive today. Fast-forward, I am now a Singer, Songwriter, Producer, and Multi-Instrumentalist who is pursuing a career in the Music Entertainment Industry. My dream is to one day use my music to unite the world. I am also fortunate to have received a football scholarship to play Quarterback at SAGU, in Waxahachie, TX. My story has touched many lives and has been featured on the Dallas Morning News, Plano News, Subdivisions of CBS news, and other outlets. As a kid who grew up physically abused, homeless, often-times lonely, and scared. I have made a promise to myself to always give back to the community and those who have been in my shoes when the opportunity presents itself. I have advocated for the homeless youth of City House, I spoke at Dallas' first ever youth homeless day, I spoke to the sharp leaders of Plano ISD's Leadership Students, and to hundreds of Frisco ISD's Middle School students. My purpose in this world is to have people say "Because of his life, I loved mine." My purpose is to enhance the quality of other people's lives.
Now that you know a little bit about me... here is why I have created this Fundraiser. Thursday July 14th, I performed at a concert at the McCall Plaza which was organized by Plano Magazine and Downtown Plano Association. July 16th, I was planning on performing in Dallas with many other musicians in hope to raise funds for the families of the police officers who were unfairly killed. But on July 15th, the morning after the concert, I was headed home and I was caught in the storm and was in a severe motorcycle crash. I waited out the storm multiple times, because I knew better than to ride in the rain. My phone was dead and I couldn't call anyone so I had no choice but to wait until the rain decreased to head out. I waited and then departed for the third time and while I was in Murphy,TX on 544 near the Medical Center, my tires lost traction and the next thing I knew I was being tossed downhill by the rain and wind like a peice of paper. I banged my head pretty hard. I remember laying in a puddle of my blood, I thought it was the end for me. Thankfully a woman (whom I never got to see or thank) held me until the Ambulance, Police, Fire, and EMS arrived. To sum it all up, I was going 50mph, so I am so thankful to even be alive. I am pretty banged up. This has been a tremendously painful experience. After leaving the hospital, I ended up making another visit because of some complications. I injured my left knee, ankle, both hands, my back, and had a fracture in my right elbow and tore some ligaments.
On the bright side... The support I have received from my friends is indescribable. So much encouragement, which has helped me keep in mind that this all will pass and I will be okay. Time heals all wounds. I know my body will eventually heal. As we all know, medical bills are not cheap. I live alone with a roommate and I pay for everything without any family help or anything. I have learned to provide for myself and my roommate is one of the best people I have the privilege to know. With my injuries, I will not be able to work or perform any music for the next couple of months. I hate "hand outs" and believe we should work hard to take care of ourselves. With all my expenses constantly rising and no way to bring in any money, I don't have much of an option but to ask you all for help. I am already falling behind on some payments now. Words cannot describe how much your donations will mean to me. If I could do it all on my own, I would. But I can barely walk around without assistance. I am depending on your generosity and kindness. This is time sensitive, unfortunately.
I cannot wait to be healthy and strong again so I can take care of myself. Wether you can donate $100, $10, $1, or just some words of encouragement, I am 100% thankful for anything you are willing to extend my way.
Thank you so much for your time, as I have learned recently, we never know when ours will be up. And thank you to everyone who has already invested in me so far.
God bless you!

Me and Plano City Mayor after Ribbon Cutting Event
Singing after speaking to the Frisco ISD Middle schoolers
Healing slowly but surely
Advocating for the homeless youth of Dallas, TX
When I auditioned for NBC's The Voice in Philadelphia
I am a Valentine's Day baby and big time mama's boy
My body is healing slowly but surely
Hanging out with NBC's The Voice Madi Davis and Former Dallas Cowboys Tony Hill at Angela's at the crosswalk
Trying to smile through the pain at the hospital
My official football visit to SAGU when I committed to play Quarterback for the Lions
