Hello Everyone! My name is Samantha and on behalf of myself and my siblings we thank you for taking the time to read our dad's story.
On April 14, 2020 our dad was diagnosed with Covid 19, by April 17, 2020 he was in an induced coma and placed on a ventilator. For 3 weeks he fought for his life and by the grace of God and the amazing nurses and doctors he survived. He had surgery to insert a tracheotomy and we almost lost him due to it breaking during surgery. Luckily, he pulled through once again and was then transferred to a rehab center to continue healing his body. During this time we did not know the severity of the damage caused by Covid to his body. We did not know that his road to recovery would be a long one. Once released and sent home he began to receive home therapy. Due to Covid-19, physical therapy facilities were not admitting new patients. Finally December 15,2020 he was admitted into a rehab center. A month there and he is now able to lift his arm, move his legs and so much more. Covid did as significant amount of damage to his body, he is currently bedridden, unable to feed himself, walk, get up on his own etc. Our mom was his caregiver 100% up until December when her vacation hours ran out and she was forced to go back to work. Because of this, my siblings and I have hired a caregiver to help him with his basic needs and we are currently paying out of pocket. Our dad was also the main provider and since he is unable to work, I want to help relieve some of the financial burden from his shoulders so that he can focus on his recovery. We want to see our dad be himself once again, the hard worker, provider, cook and so many other things that make him an amazing person.
The funds raised will be 100% used to provide financial relief, pay medical bills, transportation to and from facilities, therapy, caregiver etc..
If you have lost a loved one due to Covid-19, We sympathize with you!
We understand that times are hard for many of us, if you are able to donate, thank you! if not please share our go fund me link.
Thank you once again!
XOXO
