Ronald Eugene Gray     2-21-1955 ~ 10-17-2015

On October 17 2015 our family lost a father, husband, and friend to a heart attack. Ronald was 60, and will be remembered dearly by his wife, three children, and grandbaby. He was a man of virtue, serving in Law Enforcement for 20 years both as a police officer and for the department of corrections. Afterwards, he sought a career in healthcare as a Respratory Therapist, working at a pediatric hospital until his health deteriorated to the point where he could no longer continue. Beset by Transient Ischemic Attacks ("Mini-Strokes"), P.T.S.D., Sleep Apnea, Degenerative Disc Disease, and Arachnoid Cysts/Migranes, yet determined to keep trying to lead a fulfiling life; he pursued many hobbies. Ron had a passion for photography, for which he had won many awards. He enjoyed going on long archaeological hikes for fossils or rare stones, and as a seasoned survivalist, he had a large collection of knives, survival equipment & first aid gear. He was also a wildlife enthusiast, regulary rehabilitating local indigenous wildlife he would happen upon on his hikes before releasing them back into the wild. Ron even had a green thumb, and a real talent for gardening, personally landscaping his family home. As an avid Action/80's/B-Movie fan, when his health faltered, he would spend the days he couldn't pursue his interests watching classics such as: Bridge on the River Kwai, Red Dawn, Rambo, the Terminator, Robocop, Rocky, and Mad Max. But he when it came to his grandson he would gladly give up the T.V. and his action movies for Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Thomas the Tank Engine, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He was a loving and attentive father, and a good man.

We are raising this money to cover his cremation/funeral/wake expenses. More specifically, the money will be used for things like mortuary service expenses, chapel service expenses, casket rental, reserving a Minister, flowers, and other miscellanious necessary expenses that accompany a loved ones passing.

Ideally we would like to reach our goal by the 30th of October, the day of Ron's Funeral. But for practical reasons we understand this may not be the best time to end the campaign, so we figure maybe 10 more days could help us hit our goal, and are thus setting the date for the end of the campaign accordingly.

This means a lot to us because Ron's departure has hit us all like a freight train, and it has left his wife of 37 years in uncertain financial waters. Succeeding at this campaign would at least alleviate that much more of the financial strain attributed to a loved ones passing, even though it does little to fill the hole in our hearts. We would be so immensely grateful if you would help us reach our goal, it quite literally cannot even be described. And from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for even considering donating to our cause. Ron would have appreciated it, and we appreciate it.

Sincerely,

the Gray Family
