Dear colleagues, staff, and students, earlier this week, Tamara Moten's (LLED doctoral student) father, Mr. Ronald W. Moten unexpectedly passed away.
If you were around for the 2020 JoLLE Annual Conference, you might remember Mr. Moten; he was the gifted pianist who played, "Lift Every Voice & Sing" at the start of the conference. Mr. Moten has been a musician since he was 8 years old. He loved music and he deeply loved his family.
Tamara was in the middle of her comprehensive exams in Athens when she learned of this unexpected and heartbreaking news. In the coming days, Tamara will transition back to Chicago (her hometown) to be with her family during this difficult time. The Moten family could really benefit from your kind words, love, and financial support at this time. Funds will be used to support Tam's transition from Athens to Chicago and also for Mr. Moten's final expenses.

After I the collect funds, I will purchase a sympathy card, sign it with the names of those who have contributed, and send ALL funds to the Moten family. I will support the Moten family in sending 'thank you cards' to contributors after Mr. Moten's funeral services.
Thank you in advance for your support at this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Sakeena Everett
