Please help us support Canadian Romani students heading to post-secondary education for the 2027/2028 school year!

The Canadian Romani Alliance is a non-profit, volunteer based community organization that was founded in 2014. We are a network of Romani organizations and individuals working collaboratively to build the capacity of Romani (Gypsy) communities and individuals across Canada.

This year, we launched the Ronald Lee Scholarship, named after Dr. Ronald Lee who was one of Canada's most respected Romani journalists,

musicians, educators, writers, linguists, activists, and community leaders. Throughout his lifetime, he dedicated himself to advancing the civil and human rights of Romani peoples while preserving and promoting Romani language, culture, and history.

We are honoured to celebrate the life, work, and enduring legacy by establishing the Ronald Lee Scholarship for Canadian Romani (Gypsy) students as they pursue their goals and educational dreams.

For the 2026/2027 school year, we received five incredibly strong applications, and awarded a $2,000 scholarship to the first place recipient who is attending York University to become a speech therapist.

The Canadian Romani Alliance was fortunate to be able to raise an additional $800 through GoFundMe to support educational expenses of two second-place scholarship recipients. One is pursuing a career in policing at Mohawk College, and the other is pursing nursing at York University. We were happy to provide $500 to each of them.

These remarkable young people have inspired us to continue developing and growing the Ronald Lee Scholarship - the first one in Canada to provide an equitable opportunity for Canadian Roma youth.

Therefore, we are asking your help to increase our scholarship fund

Our goal is to raise $5,000, which would allow us to award more scholarship money for post-secondary education.

Let's honour Dr. Ronald Lee's legacy by helping the next generation move forward.

Help us invest in the future of Canadian Romani youth. ❤️

Please consider donating and sharing this appeal with others who believe in the power of education.

Thank you for believing in our youth and in the future of our community.

With immense gratitude,
