help Ronald Cronemeyer's family put him to rest
Ronald Bruce Cronemeyer, 66, left this world after a long, hard fight on September 12th, 2024. He was surrounded by his family in Flagstaff, Az. Ronald was born April 27th, 1958, in Winslow, Az into the Tsi’naajinii clan and for the Táchii’nii clan. He was the fifth of nine children born to Louise & Walter Cronemeyer, Sr.
Ronald formed a lot of lifelong connections growing up on Mahoney Street and graduated in 1976 from Winslow High School. He worked as a Hotshot Firefighter in Fort Defiance, a bouncer for Brown Barn, a supervisor at Hopi Tech and TDI, a surveyor at ADOT, a driver for the Senior Center, and maintenance at The Lodge. He became a father to his first daughter, his favorite “job”, in 1981. Eventually, he would have 2 more daughters, his ‘Chun’, and 2 stepchildren with his companion of 22 years, Jo.
Ron loved to play basketball and in his younger days, you could usually catch him at the Triangle, balling it up in his cut off jean shorts. He was a rock n’ roller to the max and loved his long hair & curls. He enjoyed watching all sports games, especially his Raiders. He was a DIE-HARD Raiders fan as most of you knew. Ron loved being around his family and kids. There were many barbeques, get-togethers, and drives to the creek & “Ronnie’s” Rock done. He was very artistic, and you would often find him drawing or making something.
Ron was a family man to the core, our confidant, and our protector. He loved all his family very much. He always spoke his mind and didn’t back down. But as he always said, “do as I say, not as I do”. He is going to be deeply missed by all. It's not good-bye, it's LATERZ.
He leaves behind his beloved children & stepchildren, Corenda (Lee) McLean of Phoenix, Michelle (Chris) Cronemeyer of Pennsylvania, Lance Lewis, Ashley (Randall) Baker, Walter Cronemeyer, III all of Winslow, and Ronnie (Adam) Blakeley of Phoenix; his grandkids, Jazmyn, Daimiann, Hailey, Oryan, Peyton, Alexander, Kayden, Oliver, and Raylan; his siblings, Teri Sazue of Lower Brule, SD, Patricia (Walter) Sprengler, Yvonne Cronemeyer, Donald Cronemeyer, Robert (Vickie) Cronemeyer, and Kathleen (Mark) Dragoo all of Winslow. He also leaves behind 9 nieces, 8 nephews, and a host of extended family & friends.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Louise & Walter Cronemeyer, Sr.; his brothers, Walter Cronemeyer, Jr. and Lynn Cronemeyer; brother-in-law, Arnold Sazue; niece, RaeDawn Cronemeyer; and great-niece, Deja Sazue.
A service will be held at Winslow Funeral Home on Friday, September 20th, 2024, at 10 AM. Interment of ashes at Desert View Cemetery. Reception to follow.
