 We are making the unfortunate announcement that my dad, Ron Begaye has passed away. He was born to Rita McCabe-Begaye and the late Johnny Begaye on June 18, 1970. He is survived by his mother, his 5 kids and his wife.

My dad was well known and he made a lasting impression on those he met. He was the type of person who would take the shirt off his own back and give it to you but at the same time, lecture you on how you would need to find a way to get your own shirt the next time. He had a passion for horseback riding and rodeo events A passion that led him to multiple victories and belt buckles that he would proudly boast about up to his final days.

My dad had hundreds of friends and acquaintances who he would speak of highly. His love of storytelling and humor will truly be missed. His love of teasing his kids during a game of Uno or Monopoly will always be remembered. My road trips with him listening to him sing peyote songs and Metallica is something I will always cherish.

Many of you probably have stories of your own and memories you wish to share about my dad. He was a unique soul that will never be replicated. I'm proud to be my father's son and to have been able to share 27 years of my life with him. I love you, Dad. I miss you. I wish I could hear your voice, see your face and give you one more hug. My heart aches today and we are all hurting.

Plans to lay my dad to rest will be discussed via Zoom meeting tonight, Wednesday, 12/15/2021, at 6 PM. If you would like to attend this zoom meeting, please reach out to any of the family members and they will be able to provide the Zoom meeting ID and passcode. We will probably wait 5 minutes or so before starting the meeting to allow people to connect.
