Our Story:
Tuesday night, I received a devastating call from my dad -- a call we all wish we never had to hear.
It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our beloved mom, Rona. She was a beacon of love and kindness in our lives, and her absence leaves a void that can never be filled. The news of her passing has left us heartbroken and yearning for more time with her. I desperately wish I could have just one more day, one more phone call, one more moment.
But now, we must cherish the memories she gifted to us and hold them close to our hearts.
Mom was more than just a mom; she was a friend and a guiding light for many. Her sense of humor was legendary -- she could make us laugh with her silly, playful antics. Her and warmth and kindness were infectious. Just ask any of the dental patients she assisted; with Rona, you never felt like going to the dentist was scary.
She loved music, especially Barry Manilow, with several photos of him lovingly kept in her dresser. And she could sing -- though she was embarrassed to admit it, she had the voice of an angel. Sometimes she would accompany me on cello as I played a tune for her over the phone.
Beyond her humor and interests, my mom taught me some of the most important lessons in life. She encouraged me to be kind to myself when I was the hardest on myself, and she believed that a good laugh could get you through the toughest moments. Her laughter and smile were a beacon of light in my life, and I know they were for many of you as well.
Why We Are Fundraising:
Many of you have reached out asking how to help. As we navigate this difficult time, we are seeking support to give our mom the beautiful and dignified farewell she deserves. The funds raised will go towards covering the costs of her funeral service, including:
- Funeral Service: A service that reflects the person she was, allowing friends and family to come together to honor her life and share some cherished memories.
- Support for Dad: Helping with any unexpected expenses during this challenging time.
How You Can Help:
Your generosity will help us honor Rona in a way that befits her incredible spirit. Any contribution, no matter the size, will be deeply appreciated. If you're unable to contribute financially, your thoughts, prayers, and sharing of this campaign with others who would like to stay updated on the funeral arrangements will mean the world to us.
