Our beloved bus driver, Ron Watson has been diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer

Our long time bus driver Ron Watson was sadly diagnosed with stage 4 cancer this past spring. Ron and his wife Mavis are hard working, wonderful, caring people. Ron has always been there for our club and skaters so now it is time for us to be there and support him in his time of need.

I know Ron has not only touched the lives of our skaters, but touched the lives of so many not only in the state of North Dakota but all around the country driving for various groups. We are hoping his story and this go fund me page will reach everyone whose lives he has touched over the years.

Ron is far more than a bus driver to our kids...the skaters often refer to him as Grandpa Ron. They would often talk him into stopping for ice cream or donuts on the way home from competitions. He came into their competitions to cheer them on beaming with pride watching them skate. He was never late and did everything he could to make sure they made it where they needed to be on time often forgoing sleep or meals. Last Christmas when we couldn't travel to competitions he volunteered his time and got a bus to drive the girls around to look at Christmas lights! We love him so much we even have a song we sing about him every time we are on the bus.

When you ask Ron if needs anything through all of this all he will say is "Can you get me a bus?" and follow it up with "man I miss driving". His wife Mavis is currently working as a janitor at night to help them make ends meet. They have given up many things in order to help with medical bills but the costs are just overwhelming. Ron's biggest wish is to get his bills and memorial expenses paid for so his wife does not have to worry about anything when he passes.

Our Capital Ice Synchro family appreciates any help for Ron during this difficult time. Our hearts are broken watching Ron go through this and we want to help in anyway we can....thank you so much.
