On the morning of March 13, 2024, Ron Reichenbach of Ocean City, NJ, tragically passed away in a house fire. His daughter, Katrina Reichenbach, will graduate this May and will be supporting herself through graduate school, pursuing a Masters in Materials Science and Engineering at Cornell University.

My name is Olivia and I am a friend and roommate of Katrina. Ron was a loving father to Katrina, a senior studying Fiber Science here at Cornell. While I only met Mr. Reichenbach when he visited Katrina for school and sorority events, the love he had for his daughter lit up the room and he was always happy to talk to everyone, making clear efforts to get to know those important to Kat. When he found out I was from Buffalo we talked (a lot) about his work trips and the snow. As we compared life in Ocean City and Buffalo, I learned a lot about the place him and Kat called home, but most importantly how special the island was to him. Ron's family is researching dedication options in his memory and services are to be held Saturday, March 23, 2024.

The money raised from this fundraiser will be used to aide Katrina as she grieves, assist in Ron’s final expenses, cover medical and legal costs, and support Katrina’s education. Damages resulted from the fire to the home in Ocean City and without life insurance, these financial difficulties will fall on Katrina. No donation is too small, and no kind gesture will go unnoticed.
