Ron Montanez's fight against Multiple Myeloma

My father, Ron Montanez was recently diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. It all started with back pain that progressively got worse over the past few months. We went to get his back checked out by an orthopedic specialist and when they conducted a MRI the results changed our lives forever. There was a huge mass on his spine, that was slowly crushing his spinal cord. Along with that he has other tumors that have not been removed.  The doctor said that if he had waited any longer he could have become paralyzed and it was a miracle for even being able to stand let alone walk! Next thing we know, I'm being told to take him directly to the Hospital to be admitted for surgery. They performed a spinal fusion and were able to stabilize his spine with titanium rods, and removed a majority of the tumor.
This has put him out of work to recover the past 3 months. This is only the beginning of my fathers journey.  After he had time to recover we had to go and see an oncologist to begin the process of chemotherapy. After he completes his chemo treatments, he goes onto St. Louis University to do his stem cell transplant to help prevent the return of his cancer. He is at stage 1 and we are blessed that it isn't worse!
With my father being out of work for the past few months and not getting much from his short term disability, the bills are piling up quickly. He has returned to work and is trying to get his normal life back. My father does not ask for help but I can see the stress of medical bills effecting him as he tries to do this all alone! Anything will help as he not only has his now overwhelming medical bills coming in but his monthly bills that he is struggling to keep up with as well. His journey so far has been nothing short of a whirlwind but my father is a fighter and we will overcome this! Thank you in advance for any donations to help my father it is greatly appreciated!
