A message from Ron:

I have so much gratitude towards everyone who has donated, and so many thanks to Graeme Coleman & Joani Taylor who put this GoFundMe together…my Psychic partner Beautiful Beverly Crook, Ian and Barb McDougall, Paul Horn, PJ Perry and many other friends past, present and future who have supported me. To mention just a few; Cameron Hood and Jeni, Dylan Cramer, Jack Stafford, Sharman King, Donny Clark, Terry Jacks, Bert Peters and Keith Kemp. To Beverly's son Justin and my son Devon and his mother Lee Johnston and to my favorite songstress June Katz and Sylvie and Samba our Great friends.

Hello everybody,

First of all, yes, we have actually bumped our goal up, in light of all the very welcome donations, and to encourage continued support of Ron's ongoing needs.

Here is an expression of thanks and an update on Ron from his partner Beverly:

Once again I'd like to express our deepest gratitude for your love and support during this very difficult time. Ron has for the most part maintained his amazing spirit throughout all the suffering. I don't know how ...but that's him, a beautiful beautiful man.

Please know how much you have helped to buoy his spirit. His great love and enthusiasm for music and life keeps shining through.

Again, much gratitude to everybody who has donated! As we near our second posted goal, we had to consider the question of revising that number upwards once again, but have decided to leave it as-is for the moment, with the hope that everyone understands that it is after all, just a number, and that a medical emergency that prohibits our main beneficiary from working is an ongoing thing.

The upshot being, if you were considering donating, please do, and let's see by how much we can surpass our goal!

What a beautiful outpouring of love and appreciation we have received for Ron.

Medical care in a crisis, not to mention everything surrounding it, is no small matter, and can go on for an extended period. For that reason, we have raised our goal, and hope that Ron and Beverly continue to receive this amazing support as we head towards the higher goal.

Hi, my name is Graeme Coleman and some other folks and I are fund raising for the wonderful pianist and human being, Ron Johnston, who is facing some serious medical challenges right now. Ron has always been an inspirational musician to me (if you've been into the Canadian jazz scene in the last 50 years you'll know who Ron is - he's been a modest legend for decades) and he has been very generous with his knowledge and encouragement over the years. Now that he is in need of some help it's an honour to be able to step up.
