Ron & Jewel Need Your Help

Hi, my name is Lynn and I'm fundraising for my sister and her husband, Ron, who was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in Oct, 2020. He has been in the hospital off and on many times at UNC, Chapel Hill and endured 2 rounds of chemo by infusion in Jan and March. Then he took chemo by pill during the summer, beginning in June. He started a new chemo by pill plus infusion in September and October. He has undergone 8 or 9 bone marrow biopsies and was scheduled for a transplant in December. Last week he found out that the leukemia cells are back and will enter the hospital Monday, November 29 for 30-40 days for intensive chemo. When the transplant takes place they will have to reside in Chapel Hill for 30-60 days. Ron is retired and Jewel Kay had to quit her job in order to be there for Ron during all of this. They are living on Social Security and Medicare. The expenses are mounting and will continue to increase, not just medical, but travel, lodging and food during all of this going back and forth from New Bern to Chapel Hill.
