Hi, my name is Kaitlin Czanstkowski and I started this Go Fund Me for my dad, Ron Czanstkowski, who is currently battling cancer. He is a father to myself and my brother Ryan, grandfather to my daughter Teigann, and husband to my mom, Alecia. Here is a summary of his battle thus far…
In 2019 my dad was diagnosed with a rare, differentiated thyroid cancer. He received a radical neck dissection, radiation, and a radioactive iodine pill, which presumably put him into remission. In 2021, he was diagnosed with an aggressive type of lymphoma. He underwent chemotherapy and is currently free from lymphoma. In 2022 the thyroid cancer returned and metastasized into his lymph nodes and bones. Because Dad’s condition is so rare, it is extremely hard to treat and there are very few effective medications (effective meaning delaying the progress, not actually killing the cancer).
In April of 2023, his oncologist in Little Rock told him his cancer is incurable. The medications that he is currently taking make him incredibly sick and are only delaying the inevitable. The doctor’s prognosis was a maximum of 7 more years of life…which is not enough time.
While Dad has received great care from fantastic doctors in Arkansas, there are other avenues of healing when one road gets shut down.
This is why he has agreed to go see a Functional Medical Doctor, while continuing to work with his current team of doctors. The premise of functional medicine is to find and treat the root cause of disease. This is done through rigorous lab testing, lifestyle changes, and a holistic approach to treatment including western, eastern, and ancient medicine. This is all done in an effort to support the human body to do what it was made to do- fight off illness. Unfortunately, functional medicine is not covered by insurance, and therefore extremely expensive and unaffordable for most average Americans.
This is why I started the Go Fund Me. Without the generosity and selflessness of others, Dad will not be able to work with the Functional MD. This is a life or death matter. So please, if you feel it in your heart to give, please do so. I understand times are tough for everyone right now, so if you are reading this and unable to give then please send up prayers- as they are more precious than money could ever be. Thank you for reading and for your contributions. God bless you all.
