Remigio Garcia (Romy), 72, of Shoreline, Washington, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Swedish Hospital in Edmonds from complications of COVID-19 pneumonia.
Romy was born on August 14, 1948 in Magalang Pampanga, Philippines to Antonio and Melencia Garcia. He graduated from the Philippine College of Commerce and Business Administration with a degree in Management and Commerce. Romy then worked for the United State Embassy in Manila from 1969 to 1991. After 22 years of an accomplished civil service career, receiving numerous commendations, Romy relocated his family to Seattle as special immigrants and settled in Shoreline. Romy then began another career with Airborne Express, where he stay from 1992 to 2003. Following his time at Airborne, he transferred to CH2M HILL (now Jacobs) to continue with his career in reprographics.
Romy was a devoted husband and father. He had an immense passion for traveling and exploring new destinations. Romy was also an avid gardener and spent many spring and summer days maintaining his vegetable and flower gardens. His time spent with friends and family was his most important. He loved to take his dog Cooper out on long walks around the neighborhood. Romy was a devout Christian and member of Overlake Christian Church.
Romy is survived by his wife Billie; his son, Karlo; son-in-law, Andrew; and his 4 sisters and 1 brother. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and older sister.
Romy left us suddenly, but our hearts are at peace in knowing that he is now safe with the Lord. His remains will be interred at ACACIA Memorial Park close to his home in Shoreline, WA.
