Rommel Millares Memorial Fund

My name is Vanessa Vizi and I was a colleague of Rommel's, and have made this campaign for the sole benefit of Rommel's wife, Maria, and daughter, Charm.

Rommel was a loving son, thoughtful brother, hard-working father, supportive husband, respected engineer and helpful friend. It is heartbreaking for all who knew Rommel that he left us so soon.

On Thursday, May 28, 2020, while working on a construction site in North Vancouver, BC, Rommel fatally and tragically lost his life.

Many years ago Rommel and his family immigrated to Canada looking for greener pastures. His journey towards Canadian dreams was supposed to end when he reached retirement, as he planned to return to his homeland Philippines, and enjoy his years with his wife by his side, and the simple happiness that family can bring.

Rommel's final trip home occurred in June when he was laid to rest surrounded by family and friends in the Philippines.

We will always cherish the wonderful memories with Rommel, and he will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

Funds raised in this campaign will be used by Maria to cover unpaid funeral and travel expenses to the Philippines, and his daughter's education.
