In Remembrance of Pedro Romero
Hello Everyone,
My name is Freddy Rodriguez, and I am starting and managing this GoFundMe on behalf of Pedro Romero and his family. Aside from being the brother I do not have, he also wears many hats to many others: He is a husband, a father, a friend, a mentor, a former punk rock drummer in his younger years, but mostly just 'Pastor Pedro' now to everyone else. He is the businessman everyone knows in town (known to many in town as simply 'The Padre"), the guy that will share a dad joke with you on line at a Dunkin Donuts, and a devoted family man of faith looking forward to the next kids' baseball games or taking up chess lessons just to bond with his son.
Pedro was taken to Englewood Hospital on the 18th of May for what was initially thought to be complications from asthma he would normally go through during the year; it was determined that Pedro contracted COVID-19. On Saturday 5/23 he was moved to Intensive Care and early on 5/23, Pedro suffered cardiac arrest and was placed on a ventilator.
It is with great sadness and heaviest of hearts I must inform you all that Pedro did not win his battle with covid related pneumonia and passed earlier this morning 6/7/21. Please think of his family and wife during this difficult time.
The GoFundMe amount raised will be used to cover current needed living expenses for his wife Tammy and children [rent, obligations, educational and anticipated medical costs] Pedro is a self-employed small business owner and sole provider of four homeschooled children ages 6-12.
