Angels For Kimberly
Kim is a 38 year old single, doting Mother who is dying of Cancer. She will leave behind a fun loving 6 year old, special needs son.
Her life had always been about helping people. Once her son came along he became her world and she still found time to help others.
Kim is a 1 time cancer survivor. The first time around, she kicked cancer's ass and took names. When cancer tested at her limits, she still found time to help others and she never stopped being a loving, caring mother her son had grown to depend on.
Sadly, Kim has discovered her cancer has returned in spades. It has spread throughout most of her body quickly. To add insult to injury, she has a heart condition that the doctors will not operate on because the cancer has returned. They gave her a few weeks at best.
Faced with the knowledge that her life was being cut tragically short and that she not only had to share this information with no only her family, who has supported her through her first battle with cancer, but she would also have to share this with her son, Kim managed to muster up the strength to explain that she will not be with them for much longer.
She has courageously chosen to live her life as sweetly and lovingly as possible. In her words, "the way I see it is why spend the precious little time that I have left sick too sick to play with my son too sick to even reading the bedtime story or to even cuddle so I've decided I'm going to spend the time that I have left enjoying every moment that I can with my family and my friends and my son so not sure how much time I do have left. But I ask all of you hug and kiss your children tell them how much you love them today and every day. And also please know that if u are in my life you mean something very special to me in your own right and I love you for that!!!!"
Within weeks of knowledge that she is terminal, Kim has taken a turn and is currently on hospice. Her family has given everything they have to help her get well.
Kim's Mother is a pillar in the community. She served on several town committees, volunteered countless hours to make sure people without means to drive or who needed assistance were able to make it to their polling district to vote and she was instrumental in getting the word out for injustices within her community. She has helped so many.
Now I am asking all of you to help her. I am raising this money specifically to help this family bury their daughter. Unfortunately, Medicaid does not pay for a burial. As all too many people know, it only pays for the bare minimum.
Please find it in your heart to pass on your indulgences, try to place yourself in this family's shoes, and let’s raise enough money so that this family can bury their child, Kim, the way Kim has asked. Taking this monetary burden from the family so that they can focus on the little time they have left with Kim would mean the world to them.
I am hoping to raise this money within 2 weeks. This will allow the family piece of mind that they can send their baby off the way she requested. The money will be turned over to the Kim's family upon her passing.
Please give whatever you can.
