Hi Everyone,
My name is Megan, Romeo's mom. As most of you know, Romeo has had a pretty amazing journey during his last three and half years of life. God has been so good to us during this process -- he's met us in every moment and supplied every need. There are, however, some things I really want for Romeo that will require extra care outside of his normal medical treatment.
Soon after Romeo was born, I started to follow Emily Heisey, a Doctor of Pediatric PT from Southlake Texas, on Instagram. One thing I noticed about Emily, is that she looks at more than a diagnosis when treating kids. I've seen many kiddos on her page, with disabilities like Cerebral Palsy and Spina Bifida, find strength and coordination that other medical professionals may have not thought possible.
In short, I want to give Romeo an opportunity to surpass expectations. I believe in my heart that the PT we've received up to this point, hasn't challenged him. Practitioners have been okay with him being "good enough" to navigate his environment. As Romeo's mother, I know his potential is great. He has proven to me a resilience and bravery that I never thought to witness in such a young person. So, I am here asking for your help.
This program comes at a cost that is not covered by insurance, and would require us to travel. I'll post a photo of the Kamp options from her practice, KinActive Kids, website below. Realistically, we are wanting to do the two week Kamp, which means a two week stay as well. Anything we raise will help cover the base cost of the Kamp, plus accommodations.
