Rome Dogs Christmas Trip December 2021

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

We are heading back to Rome on December 4th to try and improve the lives of the poor souls that live there, if only just a little bit. This bitter wet/cold winter is just starting, and these poor dogs and cats need as much cedar and wheat straw as we can get them to fill their houses and keep them warm on cold nights. They need food to keep their bellies full.

The tether ban has passed in Rome/Floyd County!! But, the residents have until February before this goes into effect since it passed, so they have until February before it is enforced. We are hoping to help and find other options like fencing for as many as possible. We are focusing on the spay/neuter ordinance next, so stay tuned.

It is predicted to be a miserably wet/cold winter in the south, and we want to be able to make them as comfortable as possible. The difference in having wheat straw and cedar can literally save their lives. We hope to raise enough funds and physical donations to go ASAP and do what we can to these poor souls. We know that sadly, dogs and cats will lose their lives this winter with the bitter cold and countless litters will continue to be born in the miserable weather.

If you are new to our cause, we are a group that goes out into Rome, GA to vet, feed, and house the poor animals that are chained or dumped outside with absolutely NOTHING. They will be freezing or dying of heat stroke, starving and eaten alive by fleas, worms, ticks, etc again, with hardly adequate shelter, no vetting, and no food. We can only think about and cry over the poor souls suffering in this bitter winter coming. Dogs cannot find shelter from the cold, or get away from predators. The cats can't find enough to eat.

We have also been spaying and neutering as many dogs and cats as we can and we are proud to say that since the last trip in September, we have fixed 42 animals! We still have quite a big list that are still in line to be fixed. Every dollar that we raise, we will use for these poor souls. How much we can do, depends on what we raise. We are always so appreciative of every single dollar that you donate. We also know that the next time we go out all of the animals that we helped last time will have absolutely nothing again, no wheat straw to keep them warm no food and nothing soft to lay their heads on, and want to bring them at least some comfort and love. These weather conditions have been so awful the last few days and are only getting worse. We want to help them at least be a little more comfortable and not dying from the cold or starvation.

We are desperate to get as many animals food, houses, hay/cedar, flea/tick/worm meds, treats, and get as many of them fixed as we can. We will always take donations of dog houses, food, hay/cedar, collars/leashes/tie outs, prevents, toys, treats, and Home Depot gift cards. We are always desperate for volunteers and would love any help. The only way we will be able to stop this vicious cycle of unwanted animals is a mandatory spay/neuter ordinance. We need support from anyone and everyone that is willing to support our cause! The laws in GA and much of the south need to change and we need to be the voices to change them

Each time we go, we really try to educate this community on proper animal care and how they can help themselves. It's not easy, but we'll be doing it again on this trip. We can't wait until the laws back up our education. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and the animals hearts. You don't know how much they appreciate it.
