Roman's Tour Fees - SCV - Synth

Hello All,
My name is Roman Lomas, and I am reaching out to family, friends, and mentors to help reach my goal to help me march with Santa Clara Vanguard. After finding out that I would have a contract with SCV on synth, I felt truly blessed and grateful. But of course, with this experience comes the financial responsibility. It is not uncommon for members from all Drum Corps to reach out and ask for financial help.
A little about me and my marching background:
My marching career started off in 2016. I marched baritone, and I would eventually become baritone section leader and drum major. 4 years of my time was spent with the amazing Del Rio Mighty Ram Band. Going into college, I knew I was going to be playing baritone for my years at Texas State University within the Bobcat Marching Band. In total, I have marched 7 years of marching band consecutively.
Where does this all tie in with my Synth experience? During the Winter/Spring time of 2022 and 2023, I joined and marched with Rhythmic Force Percussion on Synth. My connections within The School of Music at Texas State University would lead me to auditioning and being contracted for 2 seasons at Rhythmic Force Percussion. I learned a lot during my time at RF and want to thank Melanie Goldstein for teaching me everything on Synth. I also want to thank Jordan Garza for making RF a home for me; very blessed to have his guidance during my time as Synth at RF.
After ending the season with RF in the Spring of 2023, I thought my days of marching Synth was over. The Spring semester ended at Texas State University and I was left to work all summer. During my first few weeks of Summer break, I felt "empty". I am a musician and I love to perform. I was born with a gift and want to cherish it with all that I can give. The Cadets posted on their Social Media Platforms that they were looking for a Synth player to fill in for the remainder of their 2023 DCI Season. I contacted the staff and audition via video. After only about 2 days of preparation and auditioning, I found out that I would stop EVERYTHING I was doing at that time and move to Erie, Pennsylvania. I will never regret anything I did and will always remember the blessings that God had given me. I loved and cherished every moment with The Cadets and the amazing CPIT. The staff and parents were amazing and made my time there feel truly appreciated.
As I end my marching career off with Santa Clara Vanguard, I just want to say thank you to anyone and everyone who has been helping me along the way. I end off with Santa Clara Vanguard on Synth in the summer of 2024. From the beginning, all the way from 2016 to 2024, I will have completed 8 years of marching. 8 years of doing what I love.
Thank you for reading this far, please share and donate as much as you can. Anything is appreciated.
