Ryan Romanczuk isn’t just any city boy, born and raised in South Detroit….in 2035, he will become Mayor of this great city. It’s been his lifelong dream to preside over the Motor City, bringing positivity, prosperity, laughter, and maybe a few pierogis into the lives of his constituents the way he has for so many of us.
In recent months, Ryan’s campaign hit a snag, and now he could use your help getting it back on track.
On June 1st, 2019, while traveling with friends in Denver, Ryan Romanczuk suffered a severe brain hemorrhage due to an underlying blood issue that results in a dangerously low platelet count.
Ryan underwent several emergency brain surgeries to stop the bleeding. Part of his cerebellum was damaged and had to be removed, but he was stabilized, and the staff of Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette, CO saved his life.
Following months in the ICU fighting hard against inumerable complications, Ryan was recently transferred to Craig Hospital in Denver, Colorado, a world-renowned rehabilitation hospital that exclusively specializes in the neuro-rehabilitation and research of patients with spinal cord and brain injuries. It is the real deal, and the best place for him to be.
Ryan’s road to recovery begins at Craig where he has daily specialized therapy sessions and 24/7 care. Due to the injuries to his brain, Ryan’s motor skills are compromised, but he is hard at work rebuilding. His speech is limited, but is able to communicate non-verbally, is slowly regaining his strength in many areas, and he’s even been known to crack a few jokes.
Ryan’s wife, Melissa, an actual angel sent from heaven, has been by his side in Colorado since the day this all started. Her strength and determination are unwavering. 1,200 miles from home and family, including their daughter Katherine, Melissa is overseeing Ryan’s recovery, managing many medical professionals in a manner that would make Ryan proud.
The first step in this mayoral race is to get him healthy enough to return home from Colorado so that he’s energized to hit the campaign trail. The challenge he faces now is daunting, his recovery will be long and expensive, but if there’s a person on this planet who can defeat this thing like Rocky defeated Drago, it’s everyone’s best friend, Chuck.
We, The People For Romanczuk2035, are asking for your support to ensure that this temporary setback in his life has no impact on his dreams. We ask your help in making sure he returns home without financial burden, ready to govern as only he can.
Donations made to Romanczuk2035 will be used to compensate the countless doctors, nurses, therapists, and institutions who are working tirelessly to get our Mayor back in fighting shape (and other expenses related to his recovery). Ryan’s first lady, Melissa, has appointed an independent board of strategic advisors to act as campaign chairs who will oversee the non-profit organization legally registered in his name and all funds collected. Should his campaign proceed without needing said funds, God willing, they will be donated to Craig Hospital.
This campaign was organized to empower all of us who have felt helpless to get involved and spread positive healing vibes. We hope you join us.
From the bottom of the heart of a Polish Eagle flying high above Motown, we thank you for your support.
Sto Lat,

Disclosures: This fundraising campaign was organized by Ryan's sisters Ashley, Chelsea, and Lindsey along with his friends Pat Chambers and Adam Birzgalis. The funds collected will be used to equip Ryan's home with things he'll need when he returns from Colorado such as a ramp, a hospital bed, and a van. Pat Chambers will be facilitating the withdrawal of donated funds and issuing a check to Ryan's wife Melissa to put towards things Ryan needs but insurance doesn't cover.
