UPDATE: We have reached our goal of $2000. INCREDIBLE! I didn't think this would even come close. Thank you to everyone that has helped out! Seriously so humbled and grateful. I've been crying every day many times. --- That being said we are going to try and keep this going to help out our favorite skater / kid of all time Filipe Mota . He is so wonderful in every way. Filipe is here on a vacation (or whatever) visa with his Dad Edwin from Brazil. Edwin gets serious Dad props for making his kids dreams come true, I have sacrificed pretty much everything for MY boys, but the Mota family are on a different level. They have more family, Mother / Brother back in Brazil. It's hard being away from them. Filipe is a straight up INCREDIBLE talent with Skateboarding. And I will tell you he is one of the most wonderful, grateful, fun and kind kids I have ever spent time with. Lets come together and help him as well!!!!
Sometimes we all need a little help from our friends and community. The last big, actually the biggest am skateboard contest of the year is coming up. We need some help. We are just a normal single parent family of dudes living paycheck to paycheck. This contest is really expensive for us. Yes, Roman does have a ton of sponsors, but he isn’t on a level of contracts and financial support with his sponsors (yet). We are reaching out to all of you to help Roman get to this event, he has a solid chance of doing well and everyone that knows and watches him on the daily believes he could hit top 10 or better. Roman rips, plain and simple. He is only 14 years old and has been taking down 20+ year olds for years, seriously, he switched to the "Sponsored" division when he was 9 years old. This is a huge contest for him and we would be honored and humbled if you were willing to be part of getting us there.
Contest is Nov 8-10. We need to arrive on Nov 5th so Roman has a couple days to practice and make a plan for his run(s) and leave on Monday Nov 11th. 3 plane tickets from Phoenix to Tampa are roughly $500 each aka $1500 and then 4 hotel nights. Grandma is coming over from Sebastian, FL on Sat/Sun and has booked a hotel for all of us the last 2 nights. That equals pretty close to $2000 without food and Ubers and whatever. We stay at cheap hotels and fly as cheap as possible.
Grandpa Vike is coming through as much as he can, like he has for the last 8 years. Roman's biggest sponsor has always been Grandpa VIke! Now that he is retired things are different.
If we somehow go beyond our goal we will pay it forward to our favorite ripper Filipe Mota. We adore Filipe and he could use some help as well. This kid is a ripper!
Anyone who donates $25 or more: If you would like an autographed 5x7 photo of Roman skating I will get it to you. $50 or more we will send an 8x10 that is personalized to you, your child or whomever you choose. Photo options are at the end of this post.

It’s a big deal in the skate world.
Roman’s popularity is growing quickly, he just hit 50K on IG a week ago and his account grows by around 100 followers a day. He is going places for sure, and we believe/hope this will be the last year that we need help from our friends and family to get him as well as myself and his little brother Rocco to all these contests.
Below is some info / background stuff on Roman.
Roman has owned skateboards his entire life. Started really skating at age 6 and at 8 took it to a different level of skating at Ramp48 daily for many hours a day. Some days we were there 10+ hours. He was a highly accomplished skimboarder by the age of 8 including a world championship title, as well as a list of 1st place finishes in many contests. At the time he set the record for the youngest person (6 years old) ever to get a real sponsorship by ZAP skimboards. By 10 years old he gave up on the skim game and we became all skate all the time. I have and still do take him daily to the skatepark for 6-10 hours a day 7 days a week.
Accomplishments/wins in skating
53 contests since 2014, placing top 3 20 times and top 5 31 times. Is now only skating the bigger events like BoardrAm, DamnAm, Xgames and hopefully more next year and beyond.
Roman was / Is involved with Woodward. Has been part of the show with little clips starting season 7, more in 8, was one of the stars in 9 and was a guest in 10. His nickname was "1st take Roman!”.
