Rolo’s Cancer fight

Hi!
My name is Ceri and I am Rolo’s mum.
Rolo is a 7 year old chocolate Labrador who loves food (especially ice cream and chips), playing in the sea, walkies on the beach and cuddling up with his humans.
Rolo has been diagnosed with a Chondrosarcoma in his nose. This is a cancer of the nose cartilage.
Rolo’s cancer has been caught quickly, specialists advise it is clearly demarcated meaning it hasn’t spread. It sounds like he is going to be a great candidate for radiotherapy, possibly alongside surgery.
Having already had a large volume of investigations our insurance money is nearly all exhausted. We’ve been sensible over the years and have some money saved up to cover some costs beyond the insurance, however, whilst we are still waiting for a confirmed treatment plan and an estimated costs we are aware these are likely to be far beyond what we have.
Rolo is not just a dog to us. He’s a huge part of our family and our story. 9 weeks ago I had a baby after nearly 10 years of trying, a baby boy that is supposed to grow up with Rolo as his big brother. But Rolo is our baby too.
He has always been there, through everything we’ve faced, the loss, negative tests, the medications, the appointments, the crying on the floor. He was there as a pillar of support on the days I didn’t want to talk to anyone. He didn’t understand what we were going through but somehow he understands me, he knows when I’m hurting and he gives nothing but love without needing an explanation.
Rolo is my soul dog who in my darkest times gave me someone to nurture, protect, love, and on the hardest days, that love has kept me strong and carried me more than anyone will ever know.
Please help us to make sure money isn’t the reason we loose our boy. Without the recommended treatment we could only have months with our boy.
Any donation is appreciated, we know times are tough and if all you can do is share far and wide to help reach dog lovers across the world who might be able to help us then that means more than you’ll ever know
Lots of love,
Ceri & Rolo (and family)
