My name is Kalab Austria-Ethridge and I'm an IB student at Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia. I am completing a personal project as part of the IB curriculum. The Personal Project gives me an opportunity to explore any issue or topic that I feel is personal to me.
My goal for this project is to raise $2,000. I want to achieve this by hand rolling lumpia and selling them frozen locally. This campaign is going to be called Rolls for Soles 2015. All the proceeds of this fundraiser, will go towards buying new shoes for impoverished children in the Philippines. I have teamed up with the nonprofit organization "Project Pearls" to help me distribute the shoes to the children. Project Pearls is known for helping the poorest of the poor children in the Philippines to have a better life through various outreach programs.
This particular project is personal to me because it focuses on three things I am passionate about: my filipino heritage, shoes, and giving back to the community.
With a $25 purchase of lumpia rolls, you would be providing 4 pairs of new shoes to children in need. However, we offer various levels of donations to accommodate eveybody's budget. Additionally, we offer a $10 donation for those who are not local or for those who simply want to help the cause but do not want lumpia. I will be personally delivering the lumpia to the address you provide at checkout. All deliveries are planned to be made during the last week of August. Emails will be sent out confirming your individual delivery date as we get closer.
