Rollo Steele Medical Fund

Greetings Madison Facebook people:

I am writing to inform you that Phil Ladwig aka “Rollo Steele” as he was named by fellow Madison guitar slinger Paul Black, needs our help.

For those of you who don’t know, for many years Phil spent his days in the kitchen most recently in the Harmony Bar.  At night he would frequent the stage playing blues with a variety of bands- most notably Shakedown and the Roadhouse Rockers with fellow Madison musicians such as Tony Kannen, Andy “West Side” Linderman.

Sadly, Phil was diagnosed multiple myeloma last year.  This is a particularly nasty form of blood cancer that requires expensive treatments and medications the details of which can be found here:  http://www.webmd.com/cancer/multiple-myeloma-symptoms-causes-treatment#1

As you would imagine, Phil’s situation has resulted in catastrophe with regard not only to his health, but since he is no longer able to work, his finances have suffered immensely.

Phil has brought many of us a lot of joy through his cooking (both in the kitchen and on the stage) and his friendship & wicked sense of humor.
