Rolling Hills Fire Relief Fund

Donation protected
Sally McConnell and her family have been involved in the Saddlebred industry for over 25 years -- starting generation after generation of top-notch riders,  breeding and training their own string of horses, supporting numerous local horse shows, and providing an enriching environment for special needs children as well. Sally and Lance have such big, strong hearts, and have opened their arms and their home to so many of us over the years.

Early Friday morning, June 10th, they watched their livelihood -- and more than 14 of their family members, go up in flames. It is believed that a fan started the fire, which fully engulfed the 17--stall barn within mere minutes. It is a total loss. There are no adequate words to describe the devastation that has befallen Rolling Hills Farm -- all of the horses, equipment, chickens, a number of barn cats, and a lifetime of hard work and memories are now simply gone, in an instant.

While they did carry insurance on the facility and (to a limited extent) the horses, there are still very large deductibles to be met and paid for before the insurance even kicks in to help. It is our goal to raise enough money to pay those deductibles so that Sally and Lance's insurance will then step in and start the rebuild of Rolling Hills Farm. And, rest assured, they WILL rebuild -- plans are already in the works, and God bless those who have already reached out to offer up horses and ponies, tack, and equipment to use when the facility is once again ready. Absolutely nothing useful was saved from inside the barn -- all tack, tools, animals, even Thursday night's lesson money -- it is all gone.  The insurance on the horses unfortunately won't come anywhere near the estimated amount needed to replace them, as they were solid, kid-proof horses and lesson hoses with years of experience.

So many people have stepped up to start the cleanup process, and as of this posting, the horses are all being laid to rest back behind the barn in a beautiful tree-filled paddock. We will be compiling a list of items lost in the flames, and will gladly accept donations of tack and other equipment for Sally as well -- contact Blair Cecil or Tayler Rinehart for more information!

Thank you so much, in advance, for any and all support you can offer for Sally and the Rolling Hills family in this most critical time of need. She has helped so many, and done so much for this industry -- she is one of the true GOOD ones in the business, and this is the least we can do to show her our appreciation.
