Rolling Fork, MS - Tornado Recovery Drive
Donation protected
Hi!
You have heard about the tragic tornado that basically leveled Rolling Fork, MS on Friday, killing at least 25 people. What you may not know is that Rolling Fork is a remote rural town of fewer than 2,000 residents; 73.92% of the residents are Black or African American and over 37% of the residents live below poverty level. The community is struggling with securing supplies because the local stores have all been destroyed and there is nowhere nearby to buy them.
You may also know, my mom loves a long-distance road trip, and has volunteered to drive a truck load of supplies to Rolling Fork.
I'm raising funds to buy the items on the local urgent needs list so my mom can bring them to MS. All funds raised will be used to buy these items and drive them to MS, except fees charged by this site.
I'd love to fill a truck and a tow trailer to make her drive worthwhile. Please donate a few bucks so we can send a full truck to people in desperate need of help!
Some of the immediate needs include:
Bottled water
Canned goods
Paper products
Pet food
Diapers and wipes
Manual can openers
Baby formula
Personal hygiene items -- menstrual products
Pet carriers
Laundry detergent
Cleaning supplies
