Judy needs transportation to see her doctors and be able to get out of the house.
Sixteen months after Judy White was born, she was infected with Polio.
Judy’s entire life has been one with partial paralysis. She wore braces on her legs as a child. Operation after operation eventually allowed her to walk on her own, but with problems.
Judy volunteered at our church and spent most of her free time involved in church activities. She got our two boys involved in many church activities.
In January of 2010 she suffered a stroke that has since kept her in a wheelchair.
Now Post-Polio Syndrome has made her homebound. As she got older her polio doctors have all retired. She is no longer able to transfer from her wheelchair to her bed. We must use a lift to get her in and out of bed. She also is unable to transfer from the wheelchair to a car.
She is no longer able to leave the house to see her several doctors. She hasn’t been able to see her 92 years old mother, who lives out of state, in over 5 years. She has been stuck in the house for over 8 months.
We need a reliable van with a wheelchair lift. She needs medical help and needs to see her doctors. She would also like to see her mother while there is still time.
