Roll for Ripley
Tax deductible
Hi team, I know in the past we have done benefit rolls to help with food and supplies at the shelter. Today we have a different goal- below are pictures of a dog I have named “Ripley” because I’m a huge fan of the alien movies and this pretty lady is also a survivor. Taken from a neglect case and at the request of my department I cannot go into any more specifics at the moment. The heroes that work at animal control worked with us and the vet clinic to save her life. Budgets are a real thing, but Chief Hughes said that nothing else mattered more right now, and to get this dog every ounce of treatment she needed. The vets said that there was a possibility she may have died any second just during the exam. This poor angel weighed 20 pounds on a bone frame meant to hold 50 for a dog her size. Her temperature was 94 degrees, where a normal dog temperature is 102. Her glucose levels were 39 where a normal dogs is 85. She very nearly did not make it. However I am happy to say, due to a dedicated team of vets working 36 hours non stop- today she has been stabilized and started on solid food, and is going to make it. She will be in ICU for several more days before going to a foster family while she gains weight. For our next benefit roll I am asking for you to contribute anything, even a dollar, to her medical expenses. Any contribution gets you into the benefit roll. As humbly as I can, hat in hand, I am asking for your help.
Update- I am absolutely blown away by everyone’s compassion and generosity for this poor dog. Any funds that exceed our goal of Ripley’s care will be used by the shelter for veterinary costs for other dogs in their car. Thanks everyone for sharing, it takes a village
Update 2- the publics generosity has truly been overwhelming. All of the funds donated will go 100% to the budget of veterinary care of animals at the Hendricks County Animal Shelter, and hopefully never be needed for such a horrific treatment of such a beautiful dog, but we will be ready.
Update 3 - again, thank you so much to everyone. Both Ripley and Newt will be getting the care they need and will live to bear witness as the criminal process continues.
this event started out as a charity roll. Reminder thatPollaro’s Martial Arts will be hosting a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu open roll to help raise money for Ripley’s vet bills. The event will take place on May 6th @ 11am.
