Our beloved Roland Alexander (Alex) Williams Pocklington recently passed on Christmas Eve, 12/24/22. Alex was born August 23, 1994 in Coeur d'Alene, ID to his loving parents, Shaun Williams and Dan Pocklington. Alex was a sweet, shy boy who grew up to become a wonderful son, brother, cousin, and uncle to his many family members.

Alex passed away too soon, at just 28 years old, from a drug overdose. Alex struggled with addiction for much of his life. He sought help many times and made progress time and again. Alex was smart, determined, and supported by a loving family. Despite this, Alex became another victim of the number one enemy of our nation's young people. It is difficult to encounter a single person who hasn't been touched by this epidemic.

The loss of a child is something that no parent can prepare for. We would like to do whatever we can to remove even the smallest burden from his parents. The money raised from this Go Fund Me will go towards covering Alex's memorial expenses. The remainder will be donated to Kootenai Behavioral Health to support their Inpatient Detox Program and Addiction Recovery Outpatient Programs. If there is any good that could come from this tragic loss, it would be preventing this pain for even one other family.

A Celebration of Life will be held this Spring or Summer at Sanders Beach. Details to come.
