Rolan Cranford Stroke Recovery Fund

On April 29th a dear friend, Rolan Cranford, suffered a stroke in the middle of the night, just 2 days after his 60th birthday. He woke up and went about his day like any other.  He quickly realized he couldn’t speak and as the morning and day progressed he lost the use of his right hand, followed by his entire right side.

Rolan was hospitalized approximately a week in McMinnville being observed, with the blood clot still threatening further damage.  He was then transferred to Salem Hospital where he began his long road to recovery, receiving the first of many speech, physical and occupational therapy sessions.  He has moved in with a wonderful friend who is caring for him along with another friend who’s sharing in the responsibilities of getting him to doctor and physical therapy appointments, shopping for food, clothes, medications, financial management, insurance and medical paperwork, etc.  Without the ability to speak or write or drive, Rolan will continue to need assistance in doing all of these things.

Rolan was born and raised in McMinnville, Oregon.  He has a passion and love for theater shown by his involvement both on stage and behind the scenes.  He’s a hairstylist, a makeup artist...There really isn’t anything this man can’t do. They say it takes a village, and I can tell you the entire village of McMinnville loves Rolan Cranford.  I know so many are asking how they can help.  Without the ability to work, Rolan is in need of financial assistance.

Your impact...Any contribution you make helps Rolan keep expenses paid during this hardship. The funds will pay his many day to day living expenses as well as medical expenses not covered.

If you know Rolan then you likely have been on the receiving end or heard of of his generosity, kindness and unselfish acts.  I’ve heard people actually refer to him as an an Angel, a gift, a life saver. He has touched countless lives, and supported so many friends and neighbors in need. Here is your opportunity to be a part of his recovery.

Rolan is making progress and is getting some use back in his right leg, arm and hand. He’s also made progress in speaking but will need a lot of time and speech rehabilitation to be able to speak and communicate with others. Not yet able to work, write, drive, speak or many other functions, he still has a long fight ahead of him. My hope is that Rolan spends all of his energy on recovery and doesn’t have to spend any energy worried about how his daily expenses are going to get paid.
