Rohingyan camp fires

More than 670 makeshift dwellings for Rohingyan refugees, in a camp across Bangladesh's southern district of Cox's Bazar were damaged or destroyed in a fire that raced through a crowded camp on Tuesday morning, according to Bangladeshi officials and the U.N.’s refugee agency. Further at least 100 makeshift tents were damaged in a fire at the Kutupalong Rohingya camp in Ukhia Upazila. Many were injured, although no official figures have yet been released. The full extent of the losses has yet to be assessed. Purpose of Life have a team on the ground and have been working closely with the Rohingyan refugees for some time now, trying to provide for them during their time in need. If things weren't hard enough for them already, this fire has further worsened conditions for them, particularly in this blessed month of Ramadan.  We have set up many camps and schools and provided water wells for the refugees previously and ask for you to join us in providing whatever help you can to rebuild the houses, so they can have shelter again which is a basic human necessity.  Purpose of Life is  a registered charity, with a 100% donation policy (no salaries); so you can be rest-assured that every penny is making a difference.
