Rohan Rafferty Fundraiser
Donation protected
Two months ago, my 27-year-old brother, Rohan, was admitted to Beaumont Hospital after being informed that his brain tumour had grown back again.
Rohan was first diagnosed in 2018 with a large tumour on his brain stem; a risky spot to perform a surgery, responsible for all body functions. Rohan decided to fight back by undergoing two operations and a course of radiotherapy, and it worked. He was able to continue living a normal life until a couple of months ago when he needed urgent surgery to stop the tumor from severely impacting his mobility. The surgeons managed to remove a lot of the tumour to ease pressure, but there is still some remaining. We are currently looking into different treatment options, yet doctors say another surgery or radiation isn’t a safe option.
Rohan has been working hard in Beaumont hospital to regain his strength to be well enough for further rehabilitation and to come home. His family have to travel for a few hours to visit and support him. He is the strongest person I know and is so determined to get well!
We are fundraising for Rohan’s future care, rehabilitation and treatment costs. If we receive more than needed, the money will be donated towards assisting patients and families in similar situations.
Thank you for taking the time to read about Rohan and for supporting us through this.
