Mark was in an accident cleaning up debris from the recent hurricanes. There were many trees downed by the hurricane and there happen to be another ready to fall that he was not aware of.
After the second hurricane that hit the Carolinas in a short amount of time, Mark headed into his backyard to assess the damage. Like any skilled tradesman, after seeing some downed trees, he retrieved his chainsaw and prepared to get things cleaned up. Tragically, while clearing out a tree, what he did not know was...there was another fallen tree resting on it. Within seconds, the broken tree that was resting on it fell and paralyzed Mark that morning. One can only imagine all of the physical and emotional pain that he and his family have been enduring. He is currently at WakeMed and has undergone multiple surgeries, treatments, and therapy. He is currently paralyzed from the belly down.
Mark and his wife Lori have two beautiful children, Emily and Mathew. They are also active volunteers for the Triangle Greyhound Society and have adopted three kitties named Skeeter, Ponch, and Bella, as well as two dogs named AC (Greyhound) and Matty (Yorkey) (see pictures below). Mark enjoys football (he is a Diehard Philadelphia Eagles Fan), attending Carolina Hurricane games, riding his motorcycle and providing for his family (critters included). As a Foreman at Watkins Site Development, he managed his paving crew well. Anyone you speak to will tell you that he is generous, well mannered, genuine and greatly liked by everyone.
Let's band together to show our support for the Rogers family through these difficult times as soon as possible. Mark and his family have given selflessly to help the helpless, and now the family needs our help in their time of helplessness! Please donate generously and any additional funds brought in will not go to waste. With Christmas coming soon and bills stacking up, everything would help out greatly.

What a team Mark and Lori make. GO EAGLES!!

Despite everything that has happened, Mark's good spirit shines through.
