Mr. Roger Taguchi (1945-2024) was a beloved educator and a champion of high school trivia in Ottawa. He was known as a “legend” at Hillcrest High School where for 30 years he inspired, conspired and had loads of fun, and where he coached the Hillcrest trivia team to a national Reach for the Top championship in 1980.

Members of the trivia community want to establish a plaque in Roger’s name: The Roger Taguchi Ottawa Reach for the Top Junior Championship Plaque. Our junior trivia members currently don’t have their own regional prize and we think Roger would approve of recognizing these young players and their efforts.
