Roger Miller Sr was on the trip of a lifetime with his wife Doris, three of their adult children, and the spouses of their children - adventuring on an Alaskan and Canadian cruise - when he was unexpectedly hit with COVID. What he originally thought was a cold from the change in weather and environment became a horrible case of COVID pneumonia that was beyond the capabilities of the cruise ship's infirmary. Roger was moved to a hospital in Canada for care - and, although the country has wide accessibility to healthcare and prescriptions, being a non-resident has high-cost implications. The hospital stay alone is approximately $12,000 per day. Any support that friends and family can provide toward making his medical expenses more manageable is appreciated very much - as are your prayers!

Update: As of the evening of Aug 20, more unexpected news was delivered by one of Roger and Doris’ children: Doris has now been admitted to the Canadian ER for similar medical complications alongside her husband, Roger. With both of them admitted into an out-of-country medical facility, the costs are rising. We have updated our fundraising goal to make a larger impact since the costs have risen significantly with them both hospitalized at this point.
