My brother Roger was admitted to hospital in August 2023 with type 1 diabetes complications and was fit to be discharged in October 2023. Unfortunately due to his ex partner not wanting him back and not wanting to care for him he was not able to stay and so returned to hospital. He stayed in hospital for several more months but ultimately he wanted to go home. Due to a safeguarding and domestic issues the Social Services considered it an unsafe place to return to and therefore Roger was classed as homeless. He built his home along with other tradesman and was proud of it so losing his home was heart-breaking for him. Due to the length of time spent trying to deal with authorities Roger was declining in health and his mental health deteriorated badly. He had enough at the end of March and decided to stop his medication and refuse food. He felt abandoned and isolated. Roger passed away on 6th April in Yeovil hospital. Whilst in hospital his bank accounts were emptied and he was left with no money to pay for a funeral. He was a hard working man until ill health with MS prevented him working and he was then deemed a burden. We would like to give Roger a decent send off and any money raised would be gratefully received. Thank you to everyone who has donated.
