My dad fought a very hard fight and went to heaven on September 13, 2023 at 3:55am surrounded by his wife Kathy, and two daughters Berni and Briar. Roger got a call he had been waiting months for - a new heart. He had a heart transplant on August 16, 2023, he then spent 28 days in ICU, battling many ailments; unfortunately infection after infection took a toll on his body and it was too much. The doctors and nurses at Stanford Medical Hospital provided excellent care for him and he fought so hard and long, enduring severe pain in order to keep his promise of love to our family. He was so brave and strong, we finally told him that we would be okay and he could go to heaven. He passed shortly after this, quietly with family and friends around him, all praying for the moment Jesus received him. We are beginning the process of planning his funeral and are expecting a large bill from Stanford any day now. We appreciate all of the love, support and most of all prayers that we have received already. We know our daddy is in heaven with a heart and body that will never fail him again.
