Roel Barron, partner of Ginger Dykstra, was severely injured on Tuesday (7/12/22) in a work related accident. He has suffered a lot of internal trauma, and YET, by the Grace of God, Ro remains in stable condition, lucid and spared from critical head, neck or spinal cord injury.

His injuries are serious, not the least of which are multiple fractures of his pelvic bone, damaged kidney, and punctured lung. He is still being monitored for other possible injuries. He’s in a lot of pain, and will continue to be until the drs determine their course of treatment for his pelvic bone. I am optimistic about his full recovery.

We are beyond thankful that God protected Ro from the worst of what could have been.

While the next few days are still uncertain, the next few months will certainly be difficult. Ginger and Ro are in Shreveport and will likely be in hotels and back and forth to the hospital once he is released. (To compound matters, Ginger's car needs repairs due to an emergency.) Ro will be incapacitated for up to 3 months, and he won’t “recover” for 6 months to a year. They live in an apartment on the 2nd floor, and will need to relocate to a first floor apartment or single level dwelling. Those are the immediate needs. The longer term needs are to be determined due to the many milestones to cover in the short run. This was a catastropic and near-death accident. Ro, Ginger and his family are in unknown territory.
