On Tuesday, April 6th, 2021, at around 1 pm, a devastating fire broke out on the 6th floor of 89th ST and 34th Ave that left about 240 residents displaced. The fire raged for about 12 hours, with over 400 firefighters on the scene trying their best to control this catastrophe. My older sister, Nanci Rodriguez Del Cid,  a kind, hardworking public school teacher, an active member of her local community as well as her church community, the Light of the World Church, and a devoted mother of 2 beautiful children, Zuri (11) and Caleb (5), along with her diligent, driven, and dedicated husband Jose Luis, lost their home and most of their belongings due to this fire. Nanci's apartment (on the 5th floor) was one floor below the heart of the fire. Their ceiling collapsed during the blaze, their home was flooded and destroyed. Thankfully, Nanci and Jose Luis were both at work and the children were with me. Their 2-year-old puppy Molly was stuck in the apartment for about 5 hours, struggling to survive while the fire raged violently through the building. A firefighter was able to save Molly although she must be taken to a vet immediately to assess her health after this trauma.

Nanci and her family lost their home, their belongings, their savings, their important documents, and so much more. Please help my beautiful family recover from this tragedy. God pay you for your help and God bless you.
