Rodrigo Medication Fund! - Ayuda para medicamento Rodrigo!

Rodrigo Perez Dongo is a a 22 year old young man living with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). He is the light in any room, and an inspiration to anybody that knows him. He is on his last month supply of the TRIXACAR medication (generic of TRIKAFTA) and we despirately need help to be able to afford the next 12-month supply. On behalf of Rodrigo, his parents, myself, and the rest of our family, please, any help is appreciated with open arms. We can't thank you enough for supporting his fight for life.

Medical History/Summary:

Rodrigo was hospitalized at one month old and diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at 3 months old. Throughout his entire life he has had countless infections that require intravenous

treatments at the hospital. These treatments last anywhere from 21 to 28 days. He has had to receive these sorts of treatments sometimes 3 or 4 times a year. The genetic study that was performed shows that two mutations were detected those being in the CFTR:X508 (Delta 508) gene and the deletion of Exons 25-26.

Last year his condition got very serious and needed immediate treatment. His oxygen sauration level of 87% was causing recurrent infections of pseudomona, acromobacter, staphylococcus aureus, among others. He had a strong cough which caused hemoptysis and his nutritional status was low. Rodrigo became oxygen dependent late last year and my sister and the family made a great effort to be able to buy the medication needed outside of Peru. We found a generic of the TRIKAFTA medication in Argentina called TRIXACAR which is produced by Gabor Laboratory. We were able to afford a 6-month supply of the medication.

Rodrigo has been taking TRIXACAR for 5 months now and below are the incredible

changes he has experienced:

- He stopped coughing completely within the first week of taking the medication.

- He stopped experiencing case of hemoptysis.

- His secretions are transparent and fluid instead of yellow/green and mucinous.

- His appetite changed by 100%.

- His oxygen levels rose to 95% - 97% without being on an oxygen supply.

- He has not decompensated again. He is no longer in a state of depression in which the

illness seemed to have beaten him. He is a completely new person with a will to live.

- He has gained 7kg (15 lbs.) in 5 months.

That 6-month supply is coming to an end and the price now for the medication in

Argentina is $80,000 for a 12-month supply (subject to volatility). We do not have the necessary

funds making it impossible for us to buy the next 12-month supply of the medication.

We are desperate because time is against us and the medication is running out.

Rodrigo Perez Dongo es un joven de 22 años que tiene Fibrosis Quística (FQ). Es la inspiración de todos que lo conocen y la luz que ilumina el camino. Está tomando un medicamento llamado TRIXACAR (genérico de TRIKAFTA) y solo le queda un mes de medicamento. Necesitamos urgentemente comprar el medicamento para los siguiente 12-meses. De parte de Rodrigo, sus papás, yo, y el resto de nuestra familia, recibimos cualquier tipo de ayuda con los brazos abiertos. Les agradecemos su ayuda en la lucha por la vida de Rodrigo.

Historial Médico/Resumen:

Rodrigo desde que cumplió un mes estuvo internado en el hospital y fue a los 3 meses de nacido que lo diagnosticaron con Fibrosis Quística. Durante toda su vida ha tenido infinidad de infecciones con tratamientos endovenosos de 21 o 28 días. A veces 3 o 4 por año. En el estudio genético que le hicieron se encontraron dos mutaciones en el gen CFTR:X508(delta 508) y la deleción de los exones 25-26. El año pasado su condición se volvió muy grave y necesitaba tratamiento inmediato. Su nivel de saturación de oxígeno de 87% le estaba provocando infecciones recurrentes de pseudomona, acromobacter, estafilococo aureus, entre otros. Presentaba una tos fuerte que le provocaba hemoptisis y su estado nutricional era bajo. Rodrigo estuvo con oxigenación a finales del año pasado y mi hermana y la familia hicieron un gran esfuerzo para poder comprar los medicamentos necesarios fuera del Perú. Encontramos un genérico del medicamento TRIKAFTA en Argentina llamado TRIXACAR que es producido por el Laboratorio Gabor. Se pudo recaudar suficeintes fondos para comprar 6-meses del medicamento.

Rodrigo viene tomando “TRIXACAR” hace 5 meses y los cambios son notorios:

- Desde la primera semana de tomar el medicamento se le fue la tos por completo

- No volvió hacer hemoptisis

- Sus secreciones son transparentes y fluidas

- Su apetito cambio en un 100%

- Su saturación subió a 95% / 97% sin oxígeno

- No ha vuelto a descompensarse.Rodrigo estaba extremadamente deprimido, parecía que había decidido dejar que la enfermedad le gane. Hoy es otra persona, en 5 meses ha subido 7 kg.

Esos 6-meses de medicamento están llegando a su fin y el precio actual del medicamento en

Argentina cuesta $80,000 dólares por un suministro de 12 meses (sujeto a volatilidad). No tenemos los fondos necesarios y se nos hace imposible comprar el próximo suministro del medicamento para 12-meses.

Estamos desesperados porque el tiempo corre en nuestra contra y los medicamentos se acaban.
