Dear friends and family,
It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that my brother Rodolfo Sanchez (26) was recently diagnosed with a very aggressive form of stage 4 Colorectal cancer. My brother, a healthy guy in his mid-20s, began to feel discomfort in his abdominal area around August last year, what the Doctors initially diagnosed as constipation, after several months, countless tests, and a few visits to the ER, culminated with the news that he has stage 4 Colorectal Cancer.
Those who know my brother well know that he is an extraordinary person, a truly one-of-a-kind. He is an old soul trapped in a young body, someone who could appreciate Jazz for breakfast, listen to Angeles Negros while cutting hair all day, finish with a Buttertones concert at night. I could write an entire book about Rodolfo's qualities, but I will summarize that he has the kindest heart, strongest fighting spirit and professional and personal perseverance I have ever seen. He is an inspiration to all of us, and has made an impact on everyone that takes the time to know him. As a family, we are truly amazed by the number of people that have shown him their love and support during this difficult time. We don’t know you all, but we want to thank you all.
The unfortunate news is that Rodolfo’s condition has rapidly grown worse in the last few months and he now faces a new set of medical and financial challenges. Rodolfo doesn't ask for help easily (if ever) but now is the time for us to show him our support and help him get the right tools and doctors to fight this terrible illness. While he plans to continue to work and do whatever he can to be active, we want to make sure that he has enough resources to try different approaches to fight this disease. Rodolfo wants to share the full results of his diagnosis using his Instagram platform @Rodolfosanchez_, in the hopes that others with similar symptoms can get checked early and take every precaution they can, even those that feel “normal” as he did 6 months ago.
Rodolfo has always been there for others, and now he needs our support. Let's rally together, show him the strength of our community, and help him focus on what truly matters – healing and recovery.
Your generosity can make a significant difference in easing the financial burden that comes with fighting cancer whether it's contributing towards medical bills, treatments, or offering words of encouragement, every bit counts.
Please consider making a donation, sharing this campaign, and keeping Rodolfo in your thoughts and prayers. Your support means the world to us during this challenging time.
Thank you for being a source of strength and hope for Rodolfo.
With gratitude,
The Sanchez Family
Note:
As we just were told by several doctors/surgeons, Colorectal Cancer among younger adults is on the rise, Rodolfo is worried for others and will use his story and journey to inspire others to get screened earlier. Please read the articles below at your earliest convenience.
