My name is Kate, and I served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ukraine, in a small town of approximately 8,000 people called Volodymyrets. While thankfully not located in occupied territory, my beloved small town nevertheless has been impacted by the severe power cuts caused by Russia's ongoing bombardment of Ukrainian civilian infrastructure since the beginning of October. It is likely that conditions will only get worse as the winter goes on.
The family medical center "Rodolad" in my town is a vital NGO that provides non-critical medical care to the community. The clinic cannot function without electricity, which goes on and off at unpredictable intervals. Without electricity, the clinic is not able to assist patients.
Buying a generator for the clinic would not only restore a source of medical care in my former community but also create a space where Ukrainians in Volodymyrets could access power and heat during the cold winter.
We are seeking to raise $4,000 to purchase a Bluetti AC200P Portable Power Station generator costing 139,000 UAH (approximately $3,800), plus shipping and installation costs. Any remaining funds after the generator is purchased and installed will be donated to the clinic to help it get back on its feet once it has a reliable source of electricity.
If you donate to assist my community, receipts will be provided once we reach our goal to prove that the generator has been purchased and shipped.
