Rodney's Raptors, Inc. - Healing through Nature

Hi, my name is Rodney Stotts and I am a Master Falconer. Falconry is the oldest sport on Earth and is the art of training hawks to hunt in cooperation with a person. More importantly, Falconry saved my life. I was on a path that would have landed me in jail for a very long time or dead. After landing a job I at first didn't think much of, the connection to nature and the joy I found in working to help vulnerable animals gave me a sense of purpose.

I was first introduced to birds of prey when my colleagues and I re-introduced Bald Eagles to the Potomac River in the 1990s, where they are still thriving to this day. Wanting to work more with birds of prey, I was told I'd have to become a Falconer. So I did.

In 2022, I moved to Charlotte Court House, Virginia, where my property, Dippy's Dream, is a haven, not only for animals, but for humans. I call my property, lovingly named after my late Mom, a human sanctuary.

At Dippy's Dream, we have horses, goats, chickens, rabbits, ducks, dogs and, of course, hawks and one happy owl, Mr. Hoots. We have camping pods, sheds, firepits, hammocks and plenty of space for you to explore and to enjoy.

All are welcome to come and stay as long as you want or need. The healing power of nature doesn't have a check-in and check-out date and neither does Dippy's Dream.

Camping here is a on a sliding scale - pay what you can. No one is turned away for lack of funds.

This fundraiser goes directly to the expenses we have here at Dippy's Dream to keep the human sanctuary going and maintained ... equipment to maintain the farm; housing and vet care for the animals; building the camping pods; and, other costs to keep Dippy's Dream the refuge that it is for all.
