Hello,
My names Neese. I manage the youth engagement at Youthprise, a non-profit intermediary that has three focus areas: learning and leadership; economic opportunity; health and safety. My job includes providing support to the young people partnering with Youthprise and co-facilitating initiatives such as Design Thinking and the YPAR network. Within the past two years, I’ve been committed to providing technical assistance to youth of color who wish to sustain an earned revenue off of their art. Using innovative strategies, I hope to make an impact for young artists around the world and create examples for the next generations to come.
I’ve recently finished a rough draft version of an illustrated chapbook. In other words, a poem book, consisting of 14 poems and 12 pictures, such as the one represented in the featured photo. The little man you see in that drawing is an essence I created through a rough time named Rodney Kendrix. Seeing situations through a large yet clear lens, Rodney’s presence brings peace and understanding, given his tight knit relationship with the Greater Spirit.
The book has a playful yet mature vibe for adults to revisit their days as a child. Listening to stories from the bedside that are filled with fairy tales and mystical creatures. Rodney however, is a mystical creature with not fairy, but life tales that many will relate to. Unfortunately, self-publishing is the worst barrier a starving artist can face when it comes to literature. For the full package E-Book, drawings included, the price to publish will be $4,192. Woah.
I hope you all will be willing and able to give and support young artist around the world, with me being a start.
When I reach my financial goal, each donor will receive a signed copy of the illustrated book as a thank you gift for your overall love and support.
