It is with a heavy heart that we share the story of our uncle, Rodney Spencer—a kind, courageous soul who has been living with cirrhosis and kidney failure for the past nine years. Rodney has faced his illness with strength and resilience. Now, as his condition has become untreatable, he has made the deeply difficult decision to discontinue further treatment and pass peacefully, surrounded by those who love him.

In his final days, Rodney has found profound peace and hope in his faith. He has accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and our family finds comfort in knowing that this is not goodbye forever—we will see him again one day. Rodney has expressed his wish for a religious funeral service to be held at the church he would have attended had he been well enough, a place that now holds special significance to him and to us.

Rodney has always been more than his illness. He is a brother, an uncle, a friend—someone who brought light with his humor, strength, and compassion. He touched the lives of many, even while quietly battling a long and painful illness.
