Help Dairy Farmer Rodney Lattimore Recover from Devastating Flooding
Hi, my name is Erin Weeks, and I'm reaching out to ask for emergency financial assistance on behalf of a beloved local dairy farmer, Rodney Lattimore, his partner Taryn, and their young family.
You may have seen Rod in the media recently, as Taree and the Mid North Coast have once again been devastated by severe flooding. On Tuesday night, Rod’s dairy farm was completely inundated. His land, his equipment, and his herd have all been severely impacted — and the full extent of the loss is still unknown.
But here’s what we do know: Rod is the kind of person who always shows up for others. During the 2021 floods, while managing damage to his own farm and herd, Rod opened his dairy to help others. He took in cows from neighbouring farms, offered his grain, his power, and most importantly, his time — no questions asked.
Just today, I stood and watched another farmer’s herd being milked in Rod’s dairy, even as his own cows waited. That’s who he is.
Right now, Rod is facing the long road to recovery. With power lines down and emergency services stretched thin, he’s relying on generators just to keep going. The costs are stacking up fast — feed, fuel, repairs, vet care, and more.
Let’s come together for a man who has given so much to others. Every donation, big or small, will help Rod recover, rebuild, and continue doing what he loves: caring for his land, his animals, his young family and his community.
