In Memory of Rodney Johnston

Hi. I'm Helen and I am running a marathon in May to raise money in memory of Rodney Johnston. Rodney was an amazing man and father to my boyfriend, Karl, and his sister, Laura.

At the start of the New Year, Rodney asked me my goals for the year and I said I wanted to run more. He challenged me to run a marathon. At the time I laughed thinking 10k would be more than enough for me. But here I am, in honour of him running the Belfast Marathon on the 5th May, the same week as his birthday.

For many years Rodney was a dedicated platelet donor and it is something which he took immense pride in. In recognition of that I am looking to raise money for the Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service (NIBTS) Trust Fund account which goes towards supporting Staff and Donor welfare.
