We’re reaching out to our community to help give a heartfelt and dignified farewell to a well-loved local, Roderick Carlyle.
Roderick sadly passed away suddenly from a heart attack at his home on Monday, 30th June. Since then, we’ve been doing everything we can to locate next of kin, check for any life insurance, and find the means to arrange a proper send-off for him.
Tragically, our efforts have been made even more difficult after Roderick’s landlord took it upon himself to dispose of his personal belongings, leaving us with little to go on.
Myself along with my parents Ken and Angela Choularton are arranging Roderick’s funeral to ensure he is remembered with the respect and care he deserves.
We’re working with Colin Ward Funeral Directors to organise a local burial, and we welcome anyone who knew Roderick to attend and pay their respects. If we raise more than is needed for the service, any remaining funds will go towards a memorial wake—a chance for friends and neighbours to come together and celebrate Roderick’s life.
Whether you’re able to donate, share this page, or offer any information that might help, your support means the world to us.
Thank you for helping us honour the memory of a dear member of our community.
Funeral date TBC but will be shared on here and all local pages as soon as we have this arranged!
